Task and implementation
Die Deponieabschnitte 1 und 2 der The landfill sections 1 and 2 of the central landfill Leppe were provided with a final surface sealing system. Due to the special features of the landfill sections with slope gradients of 1:2.5 and the construction with prefill dams of cohesive material of > 4 m thickness, a sealing system with exclusively mineral sealing but with a permeability coefficient of kf 1 * 10-10 m/s was approved.
Project data
After profiling, approx. 43,000 m² of mineral seal, surface filter and recultivation layer were applied. The integration of the landfill forecourt, the crossing of the landfill access road during ongoing operations, and the necessary re-routing of gas collection lines, leachate transport lines, and the crossing water and electrical supply facilities had to be taken into account here.
